The map below outlines the final road layout, which will complement the University’s circa £60 million Student Centre and new civic square, a key part of UCLan’s transformational £200 million Campus Masterplan.
Scheduled to be completed by summer 2021, highways enabling works are now taking place on site for the second phase of the highways scheme, resulting in a number of road closures and diversions.
Full pedestrian access will be available throughout all phases of the highways works, but cyclists will be asked to dismount and use pedestrian routes until completion of the project. When the project is complete, Adelphi Street, from its junctions with St Peter’s Street to Victoria Street, will become pedestrianised.

Phase 4 – Current road closures
Friargate, Moor Lane and a new road replacing the Adelphi roundabout are now open to traffic. Walker Street is due to open in mid-November, while Adelphi Street will remain closed until early spring.
Corporation Street is closed to all road users between Edward Street and Kendal Street until March 2021 with all road users diverted down Friargate as an alternative route.

Motorists turning right onto Ringway to access Fishergate or Preston Docks are recommended to use Heatley Street to return to Corporation Street.
The University would like to remind motorists that at weekends UCLan car parks are available and free for general public use.
