The Campus Masterplan is the biggest investment that the University has made, spending £200 million on four major projects over the next five years.
One of our key goals throughout this phase in our journey is to ensure that our students can learn from the Masterplan wherever possible. With so many industries and businesses working on campus together, there are plenty of opportunities for our students to experience real world learning.
Last week, our second year civil engineering students received a lecture with boots on. They were invited to join Conlon Construction on the Social Spaces sites, whilst they laid the foundations for the new buildings. The students spent time on each site with the project managers, learning about the different construction techniques and experiencing first-hand the processes that take place on a building site, from health and safety and job roles to site and machinery maintenance.
