The University will build a bespoke, purpose-built multi-faith centre for the staff and students at the University. It has been designed in consultation with students and the Students’ Union to ensure the best utilisation of the space. Oasis will create the perfect environment for prayer, contemplation and reflection for all.
The new building will involve an extension to the current Moss building. It will include a dedicated Muslim prayer room with male and female ablution areas, library for use by all faiths groups, a chapel for Christian worship, and a dedicated room for quiet reflection. There will also be space for counselling, meetings and social gatherings, including a relaxing roof garden.
Update on Progress: F Parkinson are on site and construction of the Oasis Centre has begun. They are currently dismantling parts of the existing building and installing the utilities to the ground floor before working on the extension.
